The Special Representative of UN Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction says “80% of all disasters, at least, are caused by weather in its different forms and shapes”.

The HFA is a 10-year plan to make the world safer from natural hazards. It was endorsed by the UN General Assembly following the 2005 World Disaster Reduction Conference in Kobe Japan in 2005.
