The benefits to mankind from the medical use of ionizing radiation are being discussed at an International Conference on Radiation Protection taking place in Bonn, Germany.

The meeting is also discussing the fact that while some countries lack access to essential radiation-based services, others receive more exposure to radiation medically than naturally.
