Four women peace activists from across the Asia-Pacific region this month received the N-PEACE Award by the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and Search for Common Ground.

One of the winners is Radha Paudel, a grassroots activist from Nepal who was honoured for her advocacy on behalf of poor and marginalized communities.

Paudel established the NGO Action Works Nepal following the Maoist insurgency in the mid-1990s. Dianne Penn spoke to Radha Paudel and she says for post-conflict societies, there can be no peace without women’s participation.
