Avoiding disaster in a dangerous world

More people globally are being affected by disasters than ever before, despite the adoption of a UN-backed international disaster reduction agreement in 2015. Experts from around the world are gathering at UN Headquarters to speed up efforts to fully implement that agreement to bring about a safer world.

First Person: Caught in the crossfire in Sudan

Amid the ongoing deadly power struggle between the top military leaders of Sudan, evacuations have begun, including as part of India’s Operation Kaveri, which has helped more than 3,500 Indian citizens living in the country. Raghuveer Sharma is one of them. He gave UN News a first-hand account of the tragic situation unfolding in Sudan.
