Ban calls for continued efforts to secure equal rights for LGBT community

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today urged the international community to continue working for equal rights and fair treatment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, reiterating the UN’s commitment to securing their human rights.

Rainbow crossing shows LGBT fight continues

A pedestrian crossing outside the United Nations which has been painted in the rainbow colours associated with the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender or LGBT movement is a reminder to world leaders that the fight for equality continues.

That’s according to a senior UN official.
