Kyrgyzstan: UN envoy meets with all parties to recent fighting

A special United Nations envoy is currently in Kyrgyzstan, meeting with all parties to try to restore constitutional order while respecting the people’s will after deadly clashes that saw the opposition set up a provisional authority in Bishkek, the capital, and the President flee to the south.

Kyrgyzstan: UN sends medical supplies to treat victims of clashes in capital

The United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) is rushing medicines and surgical equipment to help doctors in Kyrgyzstan treat the hundreds of casualties from this week’s deadly clashes that have led to the apparent overthrow of the Central Asian country’s Government.

Ban urges restraint after protesters seize Government building in Kyrgyzstan
