United Nations officials in Afghanistan have strongly condemned the brutal killing of a 27-year-old mentally ill woman, who was attacked yesterday by an angry crowd accusing her of burning a copy of the Quran.
The top United Nations envoy for Afghanistan today said there was renewed hope for the peace process as he briefed the Security Council, which extended the mandate of the UN mission in the country for another year.
