United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan announced today that Major-General Herbert Joaquin Figoli Almandos of Uruguay has been appointed Force Commander of the UN peacekeeping mission in Cyprus (UNFICYP).
Acting on the recommendation of Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the Security Council today extended the mandate of United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) until 15 December.
