In a ‘difficult year’ for freedom of expression, AI and digital security could help

It's time to ‘demystify’ what we know about artificial intelligence (AI), and monitor its development so it’s consistent with human rights and fosters healthy freedom of expression, according to UN Special Rapporteur David Kaye.  The expert also told UN News’s Maoqi Li that he’s ‘deeply concerned’ about increasing pressure on journalists, referencing the recent disappearance of Saudi dissident columnist Jamal Khashoggi.
