On International Day, UN honours legacy of transatlantic slave trade victims

The United Nations today capped off a week of activities to honour the memory of the millions of innocent victims who suffered over four centuries due to the transatlantic slave trade, focusing on the legacy of those enslaved and their contributions to the societies in which they lived.

At UN, educators learn ways to impart lessons of slavery to future generations

From high schools in the Gambia and Portugal to pre-schools in South Africa and a university in the United States, hundreds of teachers and educators from around the world gathered “virtually” today through the assistance of the United Nations to learn about the best ways to teach future generations about slavery.
