Bangladesh: World Heritage Site threatened by ‘heedless industrialisation’ - UN expert

The Sundarbans forest, a which is the largest contiguous mangrove forest in the world and home to several endangered species, is being threatened by “heedless industrialization”, according to a UN rights expert, who on Tuesday, called on the Government of Bangladesh to halt the process. 

Solar cooking helps sauce up Sustainable Development Goals

Solar cooking can help achieve all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including those related to clean water and gender equality, according to Alan Bigelow, Science Director at Solar Cookers International (SCI).  Solar cooking utilizes heat generated directly from the sun instead of converting sunlight to electricity.  Mr. Bigelow spoke with UN News about the revolutionary cookers.
