Young people celebrate indigenous heritage through music
Young indigenous people should celebrate their heritage and revitalize their native languages through making music.
That’s the message from Nils Rune Utsi, also known as SlinCraze, an up-and-coming rapper who is a member of the Sami community in Norway and the subject of a powerful new documentary, Arctic Superstar.
He performed at UN Headquarters in New York this week during the on-going Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
