Report depicts violations against Rohingya in Myanmar

Members of the minority Rohingya community in Myanmar have reported mass gang rapes, killings, beatings and other violations they have suffered at the hands of the security forces.

The stark findings come in a report published this Friday by the UN human rights office (OHCHR) based on interviews conducted with Rohingya in neighbouring Bangladesh.

They had fled Myanmar’s Rakhine State in October following stepped up military operations in response to attacks on police outposts near the border.
