The United Nations human rights office has voiced serious concerns about the execution of a Mexican national by United States authorities in defiance of an order from the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour will make a four-day official visit next week to Mexico to assess recent developments in the country and key challenges ahead in protecting human rights.
