US$100m released from Emergency Response Fund for “neglected crises”

A total of US$100 million has been released from the UN Central Emergency Response Fund, or CERF, by the UN chief, to “sustain operations” in nine “neglected” emergencies around the world.

Mali: UN condemns suicide bombing of Gao military camp as ‘direct attack’ on peace process

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has strongly condemned the suicide-vehicle attack earlier today perpetrated against a military camp in the northern Mali city of Gao that reportedly left at least 50 people dead and dozens injured.
