Rural women play a critical role in agriculture, food security and managing land and natural resources - yet many suffer from "discrimination, systemic racism, and structural poverty", the UN chief said on Thursday.
Ninety-six countries, along with non-governmental, private, and civil society organizations, have reached a consensus on a set of global guidelines on responsible access to and ownership of land, fisheries and forests during talks convened by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.
