Human rights in Belarus are not improving, but rather “going from worse to worse.”

That’s the view of Miklos Harazti, Special Rapporteur on human rights in Belarus, who has been accused by the government there of ignoring positive developments and barred from entering the country.

'Injustice against journalists costly for society,' says UNESCO chief on International Day

Justice must be done for the murder of journalists, who perform important functions in taking forward fundamental freedoms and bolstering the strength of societies, a senior United Nations official said Thursday, marking the International Day to end impunity for crimes against them.
