Security Council approves final extension for UN mission in Côte d’Ivoire, citing ‘remarkable’ progress

The United Nations Security Council today renewed the mandate of the UN peacekeeping mission in Côte d’Ivoire for a final period, extending it until the end of June next year, and also decided to terminate all arms, travel and financial sanctions against the country, with immediate effect.
