Côte d’Ivoire: UN mission calls on all parties to stay in peace process

Expressing deep concern about recent statements made by some political leaders in Côte d’Ivoire which could set back the peace process, the United Nations mission in the country today called for all parties to overcome their differences through dialogue.

Urging all sides in the divided West African country of Côte d’Ivoire to play their part to ensure that free and fair elections can be staged by the end of October, the Security Council today called for the deployment of “as many mobile courts as possible” to help in the process of identifying and registering voters who do not have official papers.
