The third Sustainable Development Goal – to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all – was front and centre at a United Nations conference in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, providing face-to-face opportunities for tackling a range of issues, including the education gap.

Unique education fund to be launched next week at UN World Humanitarian Summit

At next week’s World Humanitarian Summit, more than 100 of the world’s leading countries, companies and philanthropists will join forces to create a “major breakthrough” in the effort to assist millions of children who’s education has been disrupted by conflicts and natural disasters, the United Nations envoy for education announced today.

Life continues for resettled Syrian refugees

Young refugees from Syria who have been resettled in Europe are being given opportunities to continue their studies in school.

Five years of civil war has driven almost five million people abroad from their homes in Syria.

The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is working with NGOs and nations like Portugal to provide scholarships and accommodation for Syrian students.
