The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) today wrapped up its annual substantive session, which this year focused on efforts to achieve sustainable development and saw the holding of the first ever Development Cooperation Forum.
The United Nations can best assist countries reach their development goals by focusing on national priorities, continually improving its programmes and ensuring adequate resources for its activities, the Deputy Secretary-General said today.
