Voter registration passes 2 million mark in DR of Congo’s capital

Voters in the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kinshasa, have been registering at the rate of 130,000 a day and the total is now more than 2 million, the United Nations Organization Mission in the DRC (MONUC) said today.

UN Security Council condemns massacre in eastern DR of Congo

The United Nations Security Council today condemned "with the utmost firmness" the weekend massacre of dozens of people in a village in the South Kivu region in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and called on the UN mission to investigate the tragedy and report back as quickly as possible.
