Nearly 3 million voters register in DR of Congo’s capital, UN says

Nearly 3 million people registered to vote in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s capital, Kinshasa, before the six-week process was completed on Sunday and the rest of the country has geared up to register for the largest elections ever assisted by the United Nations, the UN spokesman said today.

The Indian Battalion of the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUC) is planning to set up a medical camp in North Kivu as part of its "Operation Dove Flight" to improve the lot of victims of the conflict which resurged early last month.
