Iraqi citizens at risk and struggling to return to normal life: UN envoy

Civilians in Iraq are living under constant threat of mines and explosives, the UN has said.

Agnès  Marcaillou, the director of UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS) recently spoke about mitigating the threat of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Iraq and other countries.

The agency educates populations of affected nations about the risks of IEDs and encourages governments to set up programmes to help those maimed by explosive hazards.
