Enforced disappearances highlighted in Argentina meeting

A group which was created in response to the disappearances of people during a period of dictatorship in Argentina has said that much progress has been made since its inception 35 years ago.

The Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances was established by the UN Commission on Human Rights in 1980 to assist families in determining the fate and whereabouts of disappeared relatives.

It now focuses on the fate of disappeared people around the world.
