African women need “more access” to the “formal” jobs market

African women are well represented in the “informal” jobs sector, but need “more access” to the formal workplace.

So says Nigerian economist, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who is best known for her two terms as Nigerian Finance Minister and as a Managing Director of the World Bank.

She said that many career women still feel “the odds are stacked against them” in rising to the top, but Millennials in their 20s are breaking down barriers.
