Afghanistan: one injured as blast rocks area near UN guest house in Kabul

Security is being tightened around the United Nations guest house in the Afghan capital of Kabul following a blast which injured one person on Sunday evening, a spokesman for the world body reported today.

Although it has not been formally approached by the Afghan Government about helping in any investigation of mass grave sites in the northern part of the country, the United Nations would be prepared to support any inquiry, a spokesman for the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said today.
