New FAO book looks at response to ‘triple food waste’ in the Mediterranean

Noting the challenges from changing climate and socio-economic conditions to the future of the food systems in the Mediterranean, the UN agriculture agency, in a new publication, has called for both saving agricultural traditions and to revitalize them to make them engines of sustainable development and improved nutrition.

Belarus in ‘flagrant disregard’ of human rights law – UN experts

Expressing outrage at the reported execution of two men in Belarus despite a specific request from the UN Human Rights Committee not to do so while it considered their cases, a UN independent rights body said today that the killings were a “flagrant disregard” for international human rights law.
