Secretary-General condemns deadly attack at political rally in Pakistan
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday strongly condemned the suicide bombing in north-western Pakistan that killed 10 people, including prominent politician Bashir Bilour, and wounded 17 others.
The attack reportedly occurred at a political rally in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Mr. Bilour served as a senior minister in the provincial government.
“The Secretary-General reiterates the strong support of the United Nations for the efforts of the Government and people of Pakistan to combat the scourge of terrorism,” said a statement issued by his spokesperson.
“He conveys his sincere condolences on this tragic loss,” the statement added.
