UN unveils new multimedia product to showcase its work
The interactive online presentation entitled "60 Ways the UN Makes a Difference" was presented today in New York to students at the UN International School, several of whom had participated in its production.
The UN, commonly known for its “blue helmets” and activities in the area of peace and security, has achieved a myriad of other less-well-known successes, from eradicating smallpox and ending apartheid to promoting the rights of persons with disabilities.
The animated presentation follows the popular release of the printed publication by the same title. The original book was produced to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the UN's founding of the United Nations. Both the CD and the book were produced by the Department of Public Information and are available for sale online.
