UN agency's Palestinian students excel in recent exams

The main United Nations agency helping Palestinian refugees today reported examination results up to more than 30 per cent above the national average at two of its training centres in Jordan in subjects ranging from dental hygiene to industrial electronics.

Students at the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Amman Training Centre (ATC) achieved a pass rate of 99.44 per cent against a national pass rate of 66.90 per cent. The pass rate at the agency's Wadi Seer Training Centre (WSTC) was 100 per cent against a national pass rate of 72.2 per cent.

Some 179 students from the ATC sat for the exam in the specializations of dental hygiene, medical records, assistant pharmacists, business administration, secretarial and office management and banking and finance management, with 178 passing, 27 of them among the top five places countrywide in their specialization.

From WSTC, 133 students sat for the exam in the specializations of land surveying, civil engineering, architectural engineering and industrial electronics, and all passed, 18 of whom were among the top five places countrywide in their specializations.
