UN World Food Programme head looks at programmes in Myanmar

United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) head James Morris arrived in Myanmar today on a four-day trip to assess all WFP programmes across the Asian country, the UN spokesman said.

“The purpose of the trip is to review WFP’s humanitarian operations throughout the country and Morris expects to meet with the UN Country Team, as well as Government officials and representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and civil society,” UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric told journalists and the daily briefing.
