Abducted UN military observers in DR of Congo released unharmed

Two United Nations military observers abducted last week in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) have been released, according to the UN mission in that country.

The two, from Tunisia and Russia, had been found safe and brought back to their base by helicopter on Saturday, the UN Organization Mission in the DRC (MONUC) said.

They were found in Kamango, a territory about 30 kilometres northeast of Beni, North-Kivu, where they had been abducted Thursday evening.
