Cyprus talks to pause for 'reflection and rest' until later this month - UN spokesman

Talks on Cyprus currently under way in Nicosia will suspend until later this month to allow time for review, a United Nations spokesman reported today.

"At the close of today's meeting between the Greek Cypriot leader and the Turkish Cypriot leader, it was agreed to begin a pause in the talks, for evaluation, reflection and rest," spokesman Fred Eckhard told reporters in New York.

The talks are scheduled to resume on 27 August, according to the spokesman.
