UN grants medals to 36 officers for service in peacekeeping operations

Three dozen officers were recognized today for their service in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Thirty military officers and six civilian police officers from 25 countries were awarded the UN Service Medal by the Under-Secretary General for Peacekeeping Operations, Jean-Marie Guéhenno.

The medal, which features a blue ribbon, is granted after six months continuous service.
