Middle East: UN envoy condemns latest suicide attack against Israeli civilians

The United Nations Special Envoy for the Middle East Peace Process has denounced the latest suicide bombing against Israeli civilians in Petah Tikva.

"Such attacks can not be endured and must stop," Terje Roed-Larsen said in a statement released on Monday.

While reiterating his longstanding condemnation of terrorist attacks, Mr. Roed-Larsen also stressed that Secretary-General Kofi Annan had repeatedly denounced such attacks against civilians as “morally repugnant” and in clear violation of international law.

The envoy added that terrorist attacks from any quarter were unacceptable and could not be tolerated by the international community.
