Annan wraps up official visit to United Kingdom

The United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, today wrapped up his official visit to the United Kingdom after a series of meetings in London to discuss the Middle East and Afghanistan.

Mr. Annan’s programme included meetings with the British Special Envoy on the Middle East, Lord Levy, and with Baroness Emma Nicholson, the World Health Organization’s envoy for Afghanistan.

The Secretary-General will depart from London tomorrow to begin an official three-day visit to Germany, where he is scheduled to meet with the country’s leaders and address the German Federal Parliament.
