Middle East: UN envoy holds talks in Cairo as part of regional tour
A senior United Nations envoy for the Middle East today held high-level talks in Cairo as part of his current tour of the region.
Terje Roed-Larsen, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, met today with senior Egyptian officials, including Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher and Presidential Advisor Osama el-Baz.
The envoy then headed to Damascus, Syria, where he will continue to review the current situation in the Middle East before proceeding to Lebanon for more talks on the matter.
