UN special envoy attends meeting on Inter-Congolese Dialogue

United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan's envoy to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is attending a national forum designed to move the peace process in that country forward, a UN spokesman said today.

Amos Namanga Ngongi, the Secretary-General's Special Representative for the DRC, travelled to Addis Ababa to attend the meeting of the Inter-Congolese Dialogue, the spokesman said.

The Dialogue brings together representatives of various groups from within the DRC, with the former President of Botswana, Sir Ketumile Masire, acting as the facilitator of this process.
