UN Television feature honoured at annual CNN World Report Conference

The 12th Annual CNN World Report Conference has honoured a news feature produced by United Nations Television (UNTV) as the Best Science and Technology Report.

Titled "Mongolia and the e-world," the report covers the spread of information and communications technology in the Central Asian country. It was produced by UNTV for the CNN World Report, a programme shown daily on CNN International and weekly on CNN in the United States.

The Conference, held from 28 May to 1 June, brought together over 200 international journalists and broadcast executives. It culminated in the Awards Ceremony, which honoured the best features in 10 categories produced for CNN World Report in 2000.

Over the years, UNTV has been honoured nine times by the Conference. Previous awards have been granted for programmes that covered current affairs, environmental issues and financial issues.
