'From heart to hand' — one cartoonist’s graphic UN journey
Introduction:
Putting pain eloquently on paper is just one of the gifts that has made Belgian-born cartoonist Michel Kichka a celebrated artist, and the subject of this edition of our UN News Lid Is On podcast.
But perhaps his most “overwhelming” and profound journey began when he put pen to paper and started work on a graphic novel examining the impact of his own father’s trauma surviving the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz.
After presenting his new novel to students at an event organized as part of The Holocaust and the UN Outreach Programme, he sat down with Cristina Silveiro, to talk family, art, and how it all began with a cartoon Nazi.
