From racism to refugees, Kevin Feinberg, had much to say at the UN on Thursday after an event commemorating the 70^th anniversary of the Anne Frank Diary.

Honouring the legacy of the young Jewish girl who recorded her experiences while hiding in an Amsterdam attic during World War II, some 500 school children participated in “From Desperation to Inspiration.”

Seeing parallels between struggles of then and today, Mr. Feinberg, the New York Program Director of the non-profit educational and development organization Facing History and Ourselves, aims to help young people “marshal their talents to make a difference in the world.”

Mr. Feinberg explained to Liz Scaffidi how the story of Anne Frank relates to the plight of refugees today.
