Countries that have developed space technologies and services must do more to share these resources with other nations, according to the head of the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization.

Dr Xinjun Li believes sharing satellites and the high-resolution images they provide, is in line with international efforts to bring about a more just and equitable world.

The head of the eight-member organization spoke to Dianne Penn on the margins of a High-Level Forum on Space and development taking place this week in Dubai and organized by the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) and the United Arab Emirates.

Dr Li began by giving an overview of his organization’s work, and its relation with UN bodies such as UNOOSA and the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).
