Ramya Subrahmanian attended the high-level event on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for Children: Collective Actions and Innovative Solutionsheld at the UN Headquarters.

The main challenge in the achievement of the sustainable development goals for children by 2030 is the scale. 1.7 billion children in 2015 have experienced interpersonal violence, both from their parents and among peers.

Small scales programs around the works “are making a huge difference for communities and families” but “we need to go to scale if we’re going to make a difference into the lives of these children now”.

Ramya Subrahmanian, executive director of a global learning initiative called No Violence in Childhood based in New Delhi, talked to Agnese Pastorino.
