No “worse place on earth” than Syria’s Raqqa, says top aid official

24 August 2017

Jan Egeland, who’s Special Advisor to the UN Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura, made the comments after a meeting of an internationally-backed humanitarian task force in Geneva.

The UN is still considering the date for a new round of peace talks to attempt to resolve the more than six-year war in Syria that has left hundreds of thousands dead and displaced millions.
