UN meeting aims to boost judicial cooperation to fight terrorism

Although many countries have ratified UN conventions against terrorism, there still needs to be more action to get these provisions included in national laws.

That’s the assessment of Jean-Paul Laborde who oversees the UN office which works alongside global partners such as the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) to help countries bring terrorists to justice.

A meeting on enhancing international judicial and law enforcement cooperation to fight terrorism was held at UN Headquarters in New York on Wednesday.

Dianne Penn asked Mr Laborde for an update on UN counter-terrorism efforts.
