Women and youth will feature prominently in a UN-backed meeting in Jordan that will bring together some of the world’s most eminent scientists, political leaders and research and development investors.

That’s according to HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society of Jordan and chairperson of the World Science Forum 2017.

The forum will take place in November and topics to be discussed include energy, water and environment, as well as post-war recovery and reconstruction.

Special sessions also will be held on gender equality and acknowledgment of the cultural heritage of Arab and Muslim scientists.

Basma Baghal spoke to Princess Sumaya, who was at the UN recently, and asked her about the importance of holding the event in the Arab world.
