The Security Council has been discussing what the UN Secretary-General calls one of the longest standing and most serious issues facing the international community: denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Despite being subject to sanctions for over a decade, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) continues to pursue nuclear and missile development in defiance of Council resolutions.

Dianne Penn reports on Friday’s meeting which saw Foreign Ministers from ten countries taking part.
