A 19-year-old refugee and activist, dubbed the “Malala of Syria”, has been hearing for herself how Boko Haram terrorists in Chad have disrupted education for a whole generation of young students.

Muzoon Almellehan, whose escape from horrific violence in her homeland has led many to compare her with the UN Messenger of Peace, Malala Yousafzai, has been visiting Chad with UN Children’s Fund, UNICEF.

On Monday, UNICEF announced that 25 million children between six and 15-years-old are missing out on school in conflict zones across 22 different countries.

Ms Almellehan explained to May Yaacoub why she had gone to Chad.
