Huge advances have been made against many tropical diseases but growing urbanisation has created what UN health experts are calling a huge breeding ground for sickness.

In its update on so-called Neglected Tropical Diseases, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Wednesday that one billion people were treated for at least one NTD in 2015.

But as Dr Dirk Engels, WHO Director of the Department of Control of Neglected Diseases, told Daniel Johnson, further gains depend on better water, sanitation and disease prevention.
